So, today was my last day at school. It is a sweet yet sour day. Some people I will see in a few weeks in New York and on our way to Ghana, others I won't see until August, and still others I won't see until Spring '08.
As I reflect back on my life and what led me to go on this mission trip, I see God calling me to be here. God brought me out of Idaho after me having prayed for something new, gave me a renewed heart for Him as well as a heart for service towards His people, and opened my eyes to the possibility and, more accurately, probability of having missions be the major focus for my life. A year ago it would have been the totally opposite seen. I was still at the University of Idaho not considering missions and definetly not Africa. Well, look where God is leading me.
As I venture into a land unknown to me with a few friends and mentors, I can only wonder what marvelous wonders God has in store for me. I just hope I have the wisdom to recognize them when they happen.
God has worked in many wonderful ways recently. I was concerned about how to pay bills while gone but that is taken care of. I was concerned about having some extra cash in case something goes wrong and that was taken care of. Most importantly I was/am concerned about how prepared I am for Africa and I have come into comfort recently with the understanding that nothing could fully prepare me for it but, nonetheless, I still have God on my side. I pray I have the humility and strength to turn to Him in my times of weakness.
Well, only 18 days left. Soon, my world will be shaken. I hope that God will use me to work in your life as well. Thanks for reading and may God Bless you.
